Stamford University Bangladesh Inaugurates Faculty Development Training for Newly Recruited Faculty
Dhaka, September 22, 2026: The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Stamford University Bangladesh inaugurated the Faculty Development (Foundation) Training Program for newly recruited faculty members of Batch FT-N9 on September 22 at the University Auditorium, Siddeswari, Dhaka.
Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain Khan, Chairman of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC), attended the inaugural session as Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Jamal, Member of BAC, and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Jeaul Hasan, Treasurer of Stamford University Bangladesh, were present as Special Guests. The session was presided over by Prof. Dr. Sharif Nafe As-Saber, Vice Chancellor of Stamford University Bangladesh.
The program brought together senior university officials, deans and department heads, faculty members, IQAC representatives and 27 newly recruited faculty members from various academic departments.
In his keynote address, Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain Khan emphasised the importance of pedagogical competence, continuous professional development and quality assurance in advancing higher education. He urged the newly recruited faculty to embrace quality assurance as an integral part of academic practice, with particular emphasis on learner-centred teaching and curriculum alignment with Bangladesh National Qualification Framework (BNQF).
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sharif Nafe As-Saber welcomed the new faculty members and emphasized that university teaching extends beyond classroom instruction to include academic integrity, research, student mentorship and institutional collaboration. He encouraged the participants to familiarize themselves with the University's academic policies and contribute actively to a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement.
IQAC Director M. Azizul Haque outlined the objectives and structure of the foundation training, which covers academic policies, teaching-learning methodologies, assessment and evaluation, research ethics and quality enhancement practices in line with UGC and BAC standards.
The six-day training program will feature interactive sessions, workshops and practicum activities aimed at strengthening faculty capacity and promoting sustained academic quality at Stamford University Bangladesh.
The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Subrata Chowdhury, Additional Director, IQAC.
